Why move-in cleaning matters more than people think
Whoever cleaned the home before you handed over the keys was on a deadline, working without your standards, and almost certainly skipped the spots only a new occupant would notice — inside cabinets, behind appliances, the top of door frames, the inside of the dishwasher. The first 48 hours after you get the keys is the only time you'll have an empty home and the motivation to do this right. Once boxes are inside, every shortcut becomes permanent for as long as you live there.
This guide is the actual checklist our team runs in Austin homes — the order, the spots most renters and even most builders' crews miss, and the things that matter more here than they would somewhere with softer water and less pollen.
